Sedona Elopement

Sedona's most iconic ceremony location — a soaring twin-spired sandstone butte rising 1,000 feet above Oak Creek Valley. The trail climbs steeply to a saddle between the spires, where couples are surrounded by 360-degree views of red rock formations, juniper-dotted mesas, and the Verde Valley below. The final scramble to the saddle involves hand-and-foot climbing on smooth sandstone — challenging, breathtaking, and utterly unforgettable. No permit required for small groups under 75 with no setup; Red Rock Pass ($5/day or $15/week) required for parking. Restrictions: no structures, rose petals, birdseed, rice, confetti, amplified music, alcohol, or drones without permits. No free-standing arches or tables on National Forest land. Strict Leave No Trace required. Trail is 1.2 miles out-and-back with 669 ft elevation gain. Summit saddle is narrow and physically limited to 10–15 people comfortably. Best for sunset ceremonies (west-facing) with arrival 1–1.5 hours before sunset. Sunrise equally spectacular and less crowded. Ideal March–May and October–November. Parking lots fill by 6:30–7 AM on busy days; Thu–Sun shuttle required (from Posse Grounds Park and Ride). Mon–Wed self-driving allowed. No wheelchair access. No restrooms at trailhead.
