Perched at 3,400 feet on the western rim of the Linville Gorge Wilderness, Wiseman's View offers one of the most dramatic overlooks in the eastern United States. The Linville River snakes 1,500 feet below with iconic silhouettes of Hawksbill Mountain and Table Rock across the gorge. Max capacity 75; no NPS permit required (USFS land, free for groups under 75). Paved path to the overlook—only 0.2 miles, wheelchair accessible, no rugged hiking. Restrictions: no arches or props, no petals or rice, no amplified equipment. Located on Pisgah National Forest land, approximately 24 miles north of Asheville via US-221 and NC-183. Kistler Memorial Highway is unpaved gravel (4 miles)—high-clearance vehicle recommended.
