Both stylists, hair and makeup girls arrived on time and finished all the hair and makeup in time for the wedding. They had good reviews and their rates were a little more reasonable than other vendors which ultimately is why I chose them. I think maybe they specialize more in hair than in makeup, because if you look at the pictures they post, its almost all hair. My mother and I both did not like our makeup. I actually looked in a mirror after my eyeshadow was done and told the artist to not wait on me to come back and get finished as I wasn't a fan and I would just do my own. It was not blended well, not the color scheme I had shown her, and was completely uneven. My mother had her makeup fixed by the other bridesmaids. Luckily, the bride really liked her eyeshadow, so that's good! After the wedding I asked Solstice if they could give a partial refund as two of their 4 clients were not completely happy and they were very quick to say no.
All the ladies in our wedding party looked and felt beautiful! Plus, the Solstice team was punctual and fun! No stress or fuss, everything smooth, perfect, and beautiful!
Emma and Alyssa were the perfect team for me and my ladies for my wedding. They are extremely talented and were able to work with all of us to give us exactly what we wanted, all right according to the timeline or even ahead of schedule. I did my trial and then naturally changed what I wanted (despite really liking the look), and everything was perfect for my wedding. They work very well together, have competitive pricing (their trial cost is lower than most, which I really appreciated), and are just great people. I would highly recommend them to anyone! Bonus points for making my mom feel as beautiful as she is! Thank you so much, Emma and Alyssa—I really felt beautiful on my wedding day, and that was completely thanks to you!!
Emma and Shain were so much fun to work with! Both ladies are very calm, yet professional and made getting ready on wedding day stress free and relaxing. My bridesmaids and mom all got beautiful updos and makeup that they loved, and I couldn’t have been happier with my hair and makeup! It ended up snowing during the wedding, and I got soaking wet, yet my hair and makeup still looked amazing! I did do a quick blow dry, but my hair still maintained a beautiful volume and wave to it-you never would have known it got wet! Thanks so much to Emma for setting me up to look great despite the elements. I would highly recommend Emma and her team for your special event too!
I found Alyssa very randomly, when I needed someone to do hair and makeup on a Monday for my engagement photos at the very last minute. I was so thrilled with how it turned out, I knew I needed them for the day-of! Three ladies came to help us get ready, and they really did an incredible job. Everyone looked stunning, but we also still all looked like ourselves when they were finished. They pulled off a super glamorous yet super natural look SO well, and we were so glad to have them. I will definitely be visiting the salon in Truckee again when I'm in town!

Emma always responded to emails quickly and always answered any and all questions. They did such a BEAUTIFUL job on all six of my bridesmaids my mother and my mother-in-law. I can not say enough about my hair and makeup! It was absolutely stunning and everything that I asked for and more! I felt so beautiful! They made sure we all were very relaxed on the big day! Emma and Shain were the absolute best! I had a hard time finding many options in the Tahoe area and was resistant to use any of the services that had 'teams of people' where they'd randomly pick someone for your wedding based on availability. I really wanted to know & trust who ever I selected. Emma's pricing was very fair and worth every penny. I had my trial at her new salon in Truckee, which is the cutest ever, and she spent plenty of time with me making sure we got it right, trying different looks, and even taking photos to capture different light. At the end of the trial she took photos from different angles to document the looks we landed on so she could replicate them exactly on the big day....and that she did! She also did a fantastic job on my moms hair & makeup and Shain was great with my other bridesmaids. They were both great to have part of my big day
Emma and Alyssa did the hair and makeup for my wedding this past weekend and they were AMAZING!! They provided services for me, my 6 bridesmaids, and the moms at our rented condo and we didn't have to start at the crack of dawn to finish in time for our photos. They were both so fun and chill the morning of (when I was a bit of a stressed out and cranky bride) and they listened to what we wanted and took ideas and suggestions easily. Emma and I did a trial for hair and makeup in June and she made adjustments based on feedback and my makeup and hair were better than I could have imagined. Payment for everyone was easy (we used Square and Venmo) and we all got tons of compliments all throughout the event. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
