WOW! We love our engagement photos so much. Kara was the best to work with-- super responsive, easy to get along with, and very patient with two people new to professional photos. She made us feel at ease and truly captured our happiness and love. We are so excited for her to take our wedding pictures as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
We had a great time with engagement shoot. She was very welcoming and fun. She didn’t give us too many poses to do and just let us do our thing. I love how she makes it about enjoying and remembering the experience not just about having good photos. Due to covid and losing my mom to cancer, our pictures got extended a lot and we had to drive in for pictures from 8 hours away. Kara checked in and made me know she was prepared. We also got a few sneak peak photos the day of!
Kara is amazing! She sent a questionnaire with so many details for videography before the wedding to make sure she didn’t miss anything! Her knowledge of video and the venue we were at was so helpful. I told her what my vision was and she was able to execute and bring her creativity to the table. The day of she was so calming and made me feel so at ease with the whole day. She made it so fun! A couple days after the wedding she sent some sneak peak photos and they are amazing! I can’t wait to see the video! Durango is a small town so it is hard to find a reputable videographer so book her ASAP! She won’t disappoint!

We hired Kara as the Videographer for our wedding and she was fantastic to work with!! Kara was communicative throughout the process and really took the time to get to know us as a couple. Kara and I didn't meet in-person until the day of the wedding, but it immediately felt like I had known her forever! She was personable, warm and a clear master of her craft. I tend to get very awkward about having my photo taken / being filmed and Kara made everything feel natural and effortless :).
Kara Cavalca took our engagement photos for us, and I am so grateful that we found her. I get super stressed out about having my picture taken but she was a delight to work with and it ended up being a lot of fun. She sent a "what to wear" guide beforehand and it was a major life saver. She also had creative ideas during the shoot that took away the "I'll just stand here awkwardly" pose that I usually have in photos; plus, she made us laugh a lot so the smiles she captured are genuine and you can see in our pictures that we're having a great time. I'm really in love with our photos (which she got to us less than a week after our session), but my favorite part about working with Kara was that she took the time to get to know us before our shoot. I could tell that it was important to her that she captured "us" in our photos. I appreciated her thoughtful questions and loved that she seemed as excited about our engagement as we were. She's taking our wedding photos as well, I'm really looking forward to it!

Kara did an incredible job on our engagement photos! We choose to do a mini session to fit in our schedule and our budget, and Kara let us choose the location and made us feel SO comfortable during our shoot. My fiance is not a fan of photos and even he did great. She gave us tons of direction and encouragement, I would highly recommend Kara to anyone!

She took my college senior photos and the experience and results were so successful that I knew when I got married I wanted her for my husband and I’s photos and no one else! On our fourth wedding anniversary we made our way back to Durango and Kara took amazing, creative photos for us to commemorate our relationship. She captured our relationship perfectly by allowing us to be ourselves while also providing tips on how to pose.

Now can I be real for a second? Do you know why I love being a photographer? Because it allows both sides of myself to shine! I am an introverted extrovert, I am a an adventurer who also loves to binge Netflix in my sweats all day long while doing some creative craft. Photography and Videography let me be both of those people!
When I am out shooting, I get to let me adventurous social extroverted side shine, and then I go back home and curl up in a ball of sweatpants to be creative and edit everything as I binge watch every crime show I can find for 6 straight hours (or if it's a wedding video, more like 100). It truly is the best of both worlds!
