Do I need to have my shoes for the fitting?

Accepted Answer

If you are getting the hem shortened, you will need your shoes at the fitting.  You can also bring shoes with the same height, if your shoes haven’t arrived yet.  If you plan to wear flats, you don’t need to bring the shoes, unless you want to ofcourse!  If we are re-working the dress, the hem is done last so you won’t need the shoes until the last fitting.

Question 2

Can you suggest the best undergarments to wear with my dress?

Of course!  I can also add bra cups to your dress which adds a little structure and support.  If you have the bra you want to wear with your dress already, be sure to bring it to your fitting.

How far in advance should I get my dress altered?

Accepted Answer

My lead time is about 6-8 weeks for the typical alteration.  For more complex alterations, please allow 8-10 weeks.  I’m sometimes able to complete alterations faster, depending on what needs to be done and my work load.  If you need something done in a short timeline, feel free to inquire.

Question 4

Do you alter bridesmaid dresses or other bridal party garments?

Accepted Answer

Yes!  The fittings can be done at the same time or separately.  I can give an estimate, just let me know what needs to be done.

Question 5

Can Bridesmaids get their dresses altered?

Accepted Answer

Yes!  Alterations for bridesmaids range between $75 - $200.  A typical alteration includes taking in the sides, shortening straps, and hemming.  As for the fitting appointment, I can accommodate 3 people (bride and 2 bridesmaids) maximum in my studio at a time.
