PJ was awesome! He shot our wedding July 2021 and did a wonderful job. Though there were plenty of snags, PJ was flexible and worked hard to make sure we captured the important and beautiful moments. PJ hopped every hurdle our guests threw at him and had an amazing attitude through the whole evening. He gave us some wonderful memories and we can't thank him enough.
PJ accommodated our elopement including hiking a few miles in to a remote area and delivered the best photos of us we've ever gotten taken. We wanted a private feeling for eloping and he did an amazing job of getting photos of everything without us even noticing he was there at times. Friends and family have been blown away with the photos and we can't wait to get a lot of them printed and hung on the wall and into a photo album.

PJ was absolutely fantastic and exceeded our expectations. I loved his style of work from the very beginning but he really made it a great experience! If you like a more real and less staged look to your photos he is the best. Got all the family and photos we needed and wanted, but truly when we received our photos we were absolutely blown away with everything he had done. Such an amazing person to work with and the best part was we had a great time having him there to capture everything. Would recommend to anyone and everyone!!

Hi there! I am PJ (Pieter-Jan), the adventure-loving, camera yielding dude behind PJ van Schalkwyk Photography. I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in Fort Collins, Colorado. I'm really thankful that you stopped by! I am originally from South Africa and my photographic journey started in 2012 in South Korea where I was teaching English. Over the course of 5 years, I traveled to several countries with my camera, developing documentary storytelling skills and I was even published by prestigious publications such as National Geographic.
