Benbow Historic Inn is a historic inn and event venue in Garberville, California, set in a rural stretch along the Eel River with views toward the surrounding mountains. The property's vintage architecture gives it a storied, old-world character, and the landmark Benbow Bridge over the river forms a natural backdrop for outdoor celebrations.
Couples can choose from six distinct spaces. The Bellows Room, with southern-facing windows looking toward Reed Mountain, and The Library, an intimate room lined with antiques and rare books, offer indoor settings for ceremonies and receptions. Outdoors, The Terrace and The Lawn, framed by the historic Benbow Bridge and the Eel River, can each host up to 250 guests, while The Front Porch works well for a welcome gathering or cocktail hour. The venue can seat up to 225 guests overall, with standing capacity for 250.
The inn provides in-house catering with bar service, or couples can bring an outside caterer of their choice. Event packages include setup and cleanup, a dressing room for the wedding party, on-site event staff, and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the property. Because Benbow Historic Inn is a full-service hotel, weddings require reserving a block of guest rooms, giving the couple and their guests a place to stay right on site. A few house rules are worth knowing: no fireworks or sparklers anywhere on the property, and decorations cannot be attached with nails, staples, or command hooks.
