An intimate ring of tall redwoods with an earthen floor, beneath branches filtering the light. For micro-weddings of 20 or fewer people.

I absolutely love filming weddings at Glen Oaks in Big Sur! The stunning redwood cabins and the tranquil Big Sur River create a breathtaking setting for any event. The Big Sur Roadhouse is a great spot for receptions, especially the back terrace surrounded by twinkling lights and redwoods—it’s so magical. The Fairy Circle is another incredible spot for ceremonies, nestled in a grove of ancient redwoods, offering such a unique and intimate atmosphere. Whether you’re planning a small elopement or a larger gathering, Glen Oaks has the perfect mix of rustic charm and modern comfort, and it’s always a pleasure to capture couples' special moments here.
I'm a Big Sur wedding and elopement photographer, and if there's one place I recommend to couples, it's Glen Oaks. Easily one of the most popular spots to elope in Big Sur, Glen Oaks has lots of different cabins to choose from and beautiful redwoods trails all around their property. There's also a trail that goes to the river where you can sit on Adirondack chairs. I highly recommend staying at the Redwood Grove cabins or Bridge House, since the Adobe Motor Lodge rooms and Oak Tree cottages are on the opposite side of the highway. All the cabins are a little different, so definitely take a look at each of them! Most of them have patios and fire pits, some even have outdoor tubs. If you want more privacy, the Bunk House and Bridge House are located across a suspension bridge, so they're much more private than the other cabins. There's also good wifi here, which is great because there's not much cell service in Big Sur. Sometimes you might even see deer roaming around which makes it all the more magical!
I had my micro wedding here in the fairy circle! It was pure magic! The bridge house and bunk house were absolutely beautiful. Didn't need wedding decor because the redwoods and ferns were perfect. Definitely felt sacred.
Gorgeous + intimate wedding setting amongst the redwoods in Big Sur. We photograph weddings and this is one of our favorite venues in the Big Sur area. We highly recommend this venue and then heading to the cliffs + ocean for some more sunset shots.
Wonderful Wedding at Bridge House Glen Oaks made our big day truly magical! We stayed in the Bridge House, as well as rented the adjacent container cabins, and had the most lovely, unlplugged, secluded, comfortable time. The cabin is spacious and cozy, nestled in the surrounding redwoods. The photos on the website don't do it justice, and have had upgrades since they were taken. A few of my favorite aspects of the house were the bathroom skylight views into the trees, heated floors, a sauna, and the fire pit. We also rented the adjacent fairy circle (a ring of redwoods) which made for a great ceremony spot. In order to have our wedding here we communicated with Ivy (the property's wedding/event coordinator) and she was very responsive and helpful amid planning. The front desk staff were nice and accommodating. As expected in Big Sur, cell phone service is very spotty and can make it challenging to communicate directions to the Bridge House. We were able to meet the morning of our check-in with Gama (maintenance manager) to walk us to the fairy circle and discuss seating layout. He also took the time to walk us through the property and show where the additional parking for our guests would be. Wifi signal is strong around the house which was definitely helpful day-of to help navigate guests to the house. Thank you to Ivy, Gama, and Glen Oaks team - our stay was incredible and we will be visiting again!
I'm a wedding and elopement photographer and I work in the Big Sur area quite often. Glen Oaks is always one of my top recommendations for couples looking for photos in the redwoods! The property is private for guest use only so if you stay on site you can take photos here without having to deal with tons of extra people. The people at the front desk are always super helpful with navigating where to go and the property is so beautiful, with trails through the redwoods and along the river. The best accommodation option is the Bridge House in my opinion, it's the priciest option but the house is separated from most of the other cabins and you have a lot of space inside and outside. If you're traveling for a special occasion, it's worth the splurge! If you just want the location and access to the redwoods there are other cabin/accommodation options at different price points, but some of them are a bit outdated inside.
We had our wedding here last week. Honestly the venue was magical! Big redwood trees and the river, close to the cliffs and ocean. There is no better location to elope in Big Sur. Stunnning venue, you will not regret it. The wedding coordinator Ivy was extremely helpful in making the day special and responding in a timely matter.
We booked “The Cottage” for our wedding anniversary to be in the nature. This cabin had the highway noise even when we closed all the windows. It was not a pleasant experience at all for the price we paid for it. It was not even mentioned in the website about the noise level. When I asked to change my cabin, they offered me to move to “Archies” which was same noise level. It did not feel like we are in nature. I asked them to move us to the other side, where the noise level was less, but they would not do that unless I pay the upgrade. I didn’t have this much of an issue in regular hotel when asked to get rooms away from the highway, when I have paid half of the price I paid here. My husband was nice enough pay for the upgrade, but don’t expect any customer service from them. Manager that day was horrible as she told me she will get back to me, but after waiting for 30 mins, I was told that she went to a meeting. One of her solution was to go for dinner and when I come back noise level will be low. Why did I even pay this place if I am not going there o spend my time there! I will never go back there, please save your money.
Absolutely incredible—staying at the Bridge House was nothing short of a dream. We rented the Bridge House for our wedding weekend, as we were getting married just down the road at the stunning Loma Vista. The house served as the perfect backdrop for a variety of special moments: wedding photos, getting ready with hair and makeup, and a cozy gathering spot for our closest friends and family after the celebrations. Highlights: 1. Architecture: As a student of Interior Architecture and Design, I was completely captivated by the design of this place. It truly took my breath away. 2. Staff: Ivy was a tremendous help for months leading up to our stay. Her straightforward and direct communication was invaluable amid the chaos of wedding planning. The front-of-house staff were equally delightful, especially when we arrived in a rush, with only a short window between check-in and our rehearsal dinner at RoadHouse. They were kind and accommodating, making us feel right at home. 3. Hospitality: The home was more than just a place to stay; it was an experience in itself. Every morning, we were greeted with hot coffee and donuts at the front desk. The house was impeccably clean and well-equipped, offering a level of comfort that made our stay truly memorable. 4. Wifi: The signal was strong wherever you were within range, which was a nice perk in a national park. 5. Amenities/Cleanliness: The Bridge House has it all—windows above the bathroom offering views of the redwood trees, heated floors, a sauna, and even access to a nearby stream. Everything was spotless and clearly well-maintained. Cons: 1. Cell Phone Service: As expected in Big Sur, cell phone service was spotty, making it a bit challenging to help our guests with directions to the Bridge House. But this added to the adventure, resulting in some hilarious stories later. 2. Directions to Bridge House: Finding the house was tricky on our first attempt. Some additional signage would have been helpful. However, the moment we arrived, the beauty of the place made the journey worthwhile. Thank you, Ivy, and the entire Glen Oaks team—our stay was absolutely incredible. We would return a million times over.
I loved everything about this place! The location, the entire property, the room, the coffee and donuts in the morning, etc. When I return to the Big Sur area, I will only stay here. It was very clean (and I’m very picky) and inviting. It was such a cool and unique stay. I couldn’t recommend it more.
