I am a Colorado wedding/elopement photographer and my couple stayed at the beautiful Wyman hotel and I cannot say enough good things about this place! It is beautiful, modern and very clean. All of the staff were extremely accommodating. My assistant and I arrived in Silverton a few days prior to my couple arriving and we stopped in to check out the Wyman as that is where we would be filming. Upon arriving we met the Bartender Mikey who was SO awesome, we would up staying for about an hour just hanging out and enjoying the ambiance while having a couple of drinks. Luckily we got to meet the owner Shane who is such a nice guy- he chatted with us for a bit and told us so much about Silverton and backcountry riding. My assistant and I stayed at a different hotel but only because we booked late and availability was limited everywhere. Next time we visit Silverton we will definitely be staying at the Wyman! My couple loved their stay and the footage we got from their elopement day is stunning!
I had my vow renewal celebration at the Wyman and stayed for the weekend. I couldn’t have chosen a better location - their courtyard was the perfect place for a reception, the hotel made for a gorgeous backdrop in our photos . The lobby and rooms are gorgeous, the beds are comfortable and I love the small touches of luxury hospitality - from the Aesop soaps to the adorable community guide they made. Would absolutely recommend this hotel!
I cannot say enough good things about the Wyman. As a Colorado-based wedding planner, I can confidently assure all couples and future clients that the Wyman is THE place for an intimate gathering and destination celebration. Getting to the property is an adventure and once you arrive, you instantly appreciate the attention to detail, historic location, and five star service. We were greeted by the owner upon arrival and felt welcome from the moment we walked through the beautifully renovated lobby. From the natural wine list to the Aesop amenities and charming courtyard, this place is perfection. If you are looking for a charming and artfully designed destination to bring your nearest and dearest for a true Colorado getaway or celebration, this is the place! Perfect not only for a weekend retreat but also for intimate weddings, very special private events, or anything else worth celebrating. I will absolutely be going back as soon as possible!! PUT THIS PLACE ON YOUR MUST SEE LIST!
The Wyman hotel is an absolute gem in southwest colorado. I’m a photographer and I shot several small weddings and elopements here this summer. For one, the place photographs beautifully. The natural light, huge windows, airy rooms, and attention to detail in the spaces made photos gorgeous. Also, their friendly staff was super accommodating to the couples we worked with, always making them feel extra special and cared for on their wedding day. Even despite covid they made the experience feel welcoming and special (even if we were all masked). I’ve been recommending the hotel to many of our couples for next year as well. It’s a perfect spot for a small wedding in the mountains.

Following a successful career in the freight business, Louis Wyman built The Wyman Building in 1902 on the same site where his old freighting office had been. The first floor included a mercantile, a gas station, and even housed the town trolly. The second floor of the building was originally designed as a ballroom and lodge hall, with an adjoining banquet room. Both halls were well furnished and equipped with anterooms as well as a lounge for the ladies.
For many years, the top floor was busy with social activities almost every night. The second floor also included two three-room office suites occupied by a dentist office and mining companies.
Over the following century, the building has been lovingly cared for by multiple owners for a multitude of purposes, and we are excited to share the rich history of this building with you today as The Wyman Hotel.
